We've just launched our very own iPhone app for Wishlings. Now you can update your wish list wherever you are!
We've packed all of the wishlings.com features into this little app. You can add, modify and delete items on your wish list as well as browse, reserve and buy items from your friends' lists - and much more!

Wish List API
Version 1 of our wish list API has just launched! Making a wish list application? Try harnessing the power of the Wishlings API and get a great head start.
Check out the Wish List API documentation.
With the Wishlings API you can create new members, manipulate wish lists, reserve and buy gifts and more. Wishlings.com will migrate to the API over time so every piece of functionality in action here will be available to a Wishlings app developer.
If you'd like to get started with our API you'll need an API Key. Please visit http://wishlings.com/about/contact to request one via email.
We are particularly interested in talking to iPhone Wish List and Android Wish List developers, but every platform is welcome!
Please Also Note: We will be introducing seamless revenue generation for API developers in the coming months!

Certain gifts help fund Wishlings
It's my aim to avoid annoying advertising on Wishlings for as long as possible (hopefully forever). I'm able to do this because certain gifts on your wish list earn us money when they are bought.
I thought it might be helpful to let you know which gifts these are. Choosing to buy these items will really help with the funding of the Wishlings project. Thank you :).

Manually add a wish list item's picture
Long time Wishlings member Chanie Pritchard recently asked us to let her have greater control over pictures on her wish list. She wanted to be able to enter her own link to an image alongside choosing from the list that Wishlings generates.
We thought this was a great idea so today we've added the feature. If you find you'd like to use an image outside of the list we give you, click on 'add your own' and a text box will appear where you can add a link to your preferred picture.
If you have a feature idea you'd like to see at Wishlings please let us know on the Wishlings support forum. The next job we have planned here at Wishlings is going to be a big one, but please do not hesitate to post your feature requests as we love implementing what you have in mind.

Tagging now available for wish list items
Wishlings member Zedwick was kind enough to request a tagging feature for items on their wish list. We thought it was a great idea so we've implemented it!
Now you can use tags when adding new items, which will be visible on your public wish list. You can use tags to create subsets of items, for example 'clothing' or 'for my birthday'.
When you click on a tag only the items with this tag will be shown.
If you have a feature idea you'd like to see at Wishlings please let us know on the Wishlings support forum. We'll probably implement it :)

Wishlings has relaunched
Many months of hard work have finally come to fruition with the launch of the updated Wishlings. I hope you'll sign up, add some wishes and let me know what you think!
This is only the beginning for Wishlings and I will be implementing many new features once the dust has settled. Please make your voice heard and let me know what new features you want our wish list site to develop. Chances are we'll probably do it :)

Making steady progress
The port of Wishlings from Ruby on Rails to PHP (using the CodeIgniter framework) is going very well. Still lots to do, but I anticipate I'll be able to relaunch within the next two months.
Here's a work-in-progress screen shot of the new dashboard.
